REVIEW: COLORFULL COLOR STAIN LIPSTICKS: LONG LASTING LIPSTICKS FOR LESS

Hello everyone!!

My dear sister was super kind and sweet! She bought me four lipsticks today!! I don't own a lot of lippies and most of them are mostly on the nude/peach side so I was very excited  when I saw these! I had no plans to make a review about these lipsticks but my sister told me that these babies are special. They stain your lips and thus lasts longer than a normal lipstick. So I tested them out and I kind of love the result so that's why I have this blog post. Anyway... here it goes:

PRODUCT NAME: Color|full Color Stain Lipstick from the brand Tupperware Philippines
Price: P109.00 (got it for free, but currently they have a sale going on so you can buy each lippie for P109.00)
Bought from: Tupperware is a catalog brand (like Avon), so check out your Tupperware Dealer. :)

Each lipstick came in a pink fuchsia box.
Ingredients:

Weight: 4 grams
What it says on the label:

SWATCHES:
This one is more of a dark pink with a hint of coral. This will good on fair to medium skin tones.

This one is a bright pink lipstick and I don't think I look good on it but I'm sure this will look great on girls with lighter skin tones. Bright pinks are also great for girls with thin lips because since it is bright, it will make your lips a little bit fuller.

This color is more on the nude side and it was quite sheer, I had to put 3 to 4 layers. I think this will show up more on girls with lighter skin tone. I do love this for an everyday look.

This one is more on the fuchsia side and is great for medium to dark skin tones. This is actually my favorite four because it just screams: VAMPY!! without overdoing it.

MY THOUGHTS:

Packaging:
It came in a standard lipstick tube. It is not really that special except that color which is nice. I can see the lipstick right away when I search for it in my makeup bag. It is quite sturdy and looks like it will not break easily.

Affordability and Availability:
For the price of P109.00 it is quite cheap compared to Avon lipsticks. Though, I don;t know a lot of people who sell Tupperware products so it might be a little difficult to find.

Formula/ Application
It is quite creamy and glides on easily. Except for Pillow Pink, I only need to apply 1-2 coats until I get the desired color on my lips. After a few minutes, I can really feel the lipstick drying on lips as it settles on the cracks and crevices. It is not an unpleasant feeling, I just put lip balm after it dried and it is okay. Tip: Apply one layer, wait for five minutes and apply another layer. This will make the lipstick more opaque. At first, it gives the lips a satin finish but turn matte after an hour or so.

Scent:
The smell is barely noticeable. I am kind of sensitive to the smell of lipsticks but these lipsticks does not any strong smell at all.

Staying power:
I would say that it lasted on me for more than 5 hours actually.

Removal:
My gosh!! It was difficult to remove this lipstick especially if I have applied too many coats. I had to use a makeup remover (Clinique makeup remover) to remove the stain.

What I like:

              • Affordable
              • Long lasting so I don't have to retouch
              • No strong smell
              • Nice colors, great for summer!!

What others may not like:
              • Dificult to remove and may stain your clothes and skin
              • Makes the lines of the lips more visible
              • Lips feel a little dry
              • Not "transfer proof"
              • Not "Kiss proof"
              • Gives a matte finish after an hour or so
OVERALL VERDICT:
I love love love these lippies!! I can't wait to buy the other colors!! I don't have to retouch my lipstick and they were sooo affordable!! I definitely recommend you to check them out!

Tips/recommendations:
              • Do not apply lip balm on the lips prior to applying the lipstick. Wait for it to dry then apply lip balm.
              • If you do not like a matte finish, you can apply a clear lip gloss once it dries on your lips.
              • You can also use your fingers to dab the product on your lips for a more natural finish.
              • Remember to exfoliate your lips before applying the product since it will really enhance any dryness or flakiness of your lips.

Hope you find this helpful!! Take care!!

THE FACE SHOP: FACEiT CIRCLE FACE BRUSH

Hello everyone!!

When I went to Manila last year, my sister asked me to buy a certain brush from The Face Shop. I did buy it for her and I remember feeling so bad for myself because I should have bought two of them. I really liked the brush but we don't have The Face Shop store in Iloilo so I was not able to get one for myself. However, my sister recently gave me the brush so I was very happy and now, I would like to show you guys how great this brush is.

FACTS:

FACEiT CIRCLE FACE BRUSH
Brand: The Face Shop
Cost: P525  (around $8)
Made of: 100% Synthetic
Color: handle- graying black ferrule: black

Design: circle brush with 35 degree slant

SIZE: Approx 6 inches

* When I bought this, it came in a box along with an instructional leaflet that shows you how to use the  brush. Unfortunately, my sister could not find it anymore.

MY THOUGHTS

  • It is great for cream based products but can be used for liquid foundation or BB cream as well.
  • Buff the product using a circular motion.

  • After using with a liquid or cream foundation, make sure to wipe and clean the bristles then let it dry for a few minutes before using it with a powder.
  •  To set your foundation, gently dab the powder all over your face using this brush.
  • Because it is slightly slanted and small,  it is  versatile enough to be used for contouring the nose and cheeks as well.
      • To contour your nose, use the "pointy' tip of the brush and run along the sides of your nose.
      • To contour your cheeks, make a fishy face and sweep bronzer on the hollows of your cheeks. Blend using circular motions afterwards to make it look natural.
What I like:
  • light and not bulky
  • great for travelling
  • handle is strong and not cheap looking
  • does not streak, gives my face a close to flawless finish
  • does not bleed
  • feels soft and does not irritate my skin
  • ferrule is sturdy and strong
  • densely packed so grabs the product well
  • has a lot of uses ( applying foundation and contouring)
  • affordable
What I think others may not like:
  • the brush itself is small so it may take time to blend foundation all over your face
  • it takes time to dry
  • since it is densely packed, it is a little difficult to take off  products (especially cream based) from the bristles

Conclusion:

This brush is indeed small but terrible (amazingly terrible). It is very versatile and delivers great results. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a great yet affordable foundation brush. Whether you have lots of brushes or you don't have a lot, this brush is a definite must have!

Guys and Valentine's day ♥♥♥

Hello everyone!!

Valentine's day is just around the corner and I am so sure that most women out there are super excited for this day. Now, in the Philippines and the US, Valentine's day is more or less a "girls" day because women are usually the receiving end of gifts such as flowers, chocolates, jewelries, and what not. Men are usually the "giver" since they are the ones who spend (well, mostly) more on this day. Not that they're complaining, I did a survey and asked 30 random men aging 20-30 years old and asked them some questions about what they think of Valentine's Day. I have gathered that 22 out 30 think that it is normal for men to spend more on this day and 27 out 30 actually do not expect to receive any  "material" gift from their girlfriends on this day. After getting the results, I kind of thought that V-day is indeed our day, but what if we return the favor? Since they get to spend money for our dinner, flowers and other stuff not to mention the extra gestures they do to surprise us or make us feel (extra) special and loved on this day, I asked 25 random men what they want their girlfriend to give them on Valentine's Day. I was actually surprised with the results!! Believe it or not, but majority (16 out 25) answered that a hand written letter or card will be the best gift that they can receive on Valentine's Day.     I asked them why they would want to receive letters and most of them answered that letters are much sweeter and more meaningful since it makes them feel more special plus they can re-read them again and again.

I for one was surprised with the result. I actually thought that most of them would answer something like gadgets or even sex! Hahha...But, I was wrong. Well, yeah, there some naughty answers such as lace panties, which really got me confused that I did not bother to ask further. There also a couple of men who answered chocolates or sweets. Not one of them answered flowers though, that would have been interesting. Anyhoo... I guess it goes to show that men are not that shallow when it comes to someone they love. At least, now I know what to give to my special someone this Valentine's day. Do you?

REVIEW: FACE PERFECTION BRUSH SET BY BEAUTY COSMETICS

Hello everyone!!

Today's product is the FACE PERFECTION BRUSH SET from Beauty Cosmetics. I got mine as one of the prizes from a contest that I have recently won. These brushes are the second set of brushes that I got from the same company. I was very satisfied happy with the Smokey Eye Travel Kit that I got last December so I cannot wait to try this brush set as well.

They came in a pouch like this which I think was nice and reusable.

 FACTS:

Product Name: Face Perfection Brush Set
Company: Beauty Cosmetics
Price: (I got mine for free) P850 on the website
Material: Synthetic fibers
Handle: Black and Silver

Brushes in the set:
BC FLAT TOP KABUKI
This brush is great if you want to achieve more coverage since is it quite dense and flat. It can be used for thick liquid and cream products. It can also be used for powder products such as powder foundations and loose powder for more coverage. It really packs on the foundation and blend it well without streaking. However, there might some streaking when used with liquid-y products and since it grabs powder products quite well, be sure to tap off the excess before dabbing to your face.
BC ROUND KABUKI BRUSH
This brush has rounded bristles and also quite dense. This is great for blending  liquid-y products and applying loose setting powder. It does not streak and does not shed as well. This can also be used for powder and cream products for a sheerer coverage.
BC TAPERED KABUKI
This brush is also dense and has a tapered end. It is good for contouring the nose and cheek bones because it gives a much precise application. The sides of the brush can be used to blend concealers under the eyes as well. this brush can be used on both on liquid and cream products.

BC ANGLED KABUKI BRUSH
This is by far my favorite of the four because it is very versatile. It can be used to apply foundation and powder. I also use this to contour my face and apply blush. It can be used for powder and cream products as well.

MY THOUGHTS:
  • Affordable
  • Handles are sturdy and does not look cheap
  • Does not shed and has minimal streaking
  • Very easy to wash and dries quite fast
  • The fibers are very soft and densely packed
  • Available locally (FB PAGE: Beauty cosmetics)
  • Comes with a pouch and brush cover for easy storage handy for travel.

I recommend this for those who are on a budget but wants to have quality face brushes. :)

Do you want to see how I use these brushes in action?
Here is my video using these brushes. :)

DOLLFACE 88 COLOR PALETTE SWATCHES

Hey everyone!!

Today, I'd be showing you swatches from the Dollface Cosmetics 88 Color palette that I recently got as one of my prizes from  Ana Victorino's giveaway. I have always wanted to buy one before but I never really got into it because I kind of thought that since I am not a professional makeup artist then I do not really need such a huge palette. But, I was wrong!! This palette is perfect for makeup beginners because you can  experiment with a lot of colors, from neutrals to pastels and matte to satin finish. I think BH cosmetics and Coastal Scents also have a similar palette with similar colors as well. I wanted to show this along with swatches so that anyone reading this can have an idea as to how the colors really look like when swatched,

It came in a brown box with the name of the company written in front. I like the box actually and the font looked classy.

The product is in a black case. It actually has plastic on it to prevent scratching but I removed it. I really regret doing so because the case is super prone to fingerprints. If you do get one, I suggest that you DO NOT remove the plastic thingy.
The palette contained 88 eyeshadows ranging from neutral colors to pastels. It contains shimmery and matte eyeshadows. It has a mirron and two sponge tip applicators that I do not really care for but can be handy as well.

In the website, it says that each pan is approximately the same size as ten centavo coin. I did not have one so I used a five centavo coin instead.

Closer look at the colors. :)

Ingredients

Here are the swatches:

MY THOUGHTS:

  • I love the variety of colors and textures it comes with. I can make a lot of makeup looks just using this palette.
  • The case looked sturdy enough.
  • It has a decent sized mirror inside the case.
  • Although I got mine for free, I looked at their website and it only costs P800 and for me, the price is quite affordable considering the number of eye shadows you get.
  • The pigmentation is good. Most of the shadows showed well on my skin.
  • The shadows itself were a little powdery but not chalky. They felt soft and buttery.
  • I do suggest using a primer or a base before applying the product so that the color will show up better and last longer.
  • All in all, I quite love this product!! I can't wait to get other palettes from Dollface!!
  • I recommend this product to any makeup lover!! :)
