My Mini WetnWild Haul + Mini Review!

Hi there! My gosh… I can’t believe I was not able to blog for so long. My January to February schedule has been sooo C-R-A-Z-Y!! I cannot wait to finish all the things that I need to do so that I can blog regularly again. I have so many stuff to tell you guys that they keep on piling and looking at my makeup storage makes me feel anxious. I have a lot of unopened stuff ad things that I haven’t used but and has been sitting there for almost a month. I just wish I have more time! For the meantime, I have this clever idea that instead of reviewing one item, I decided to group them especially if I got them together and then add a short review and swatches. That way, I don’t have to dedicate a lot of time and effort in writing about just one product and you, my dear reader won’t have to spend a lot of time and effort to read about just one item. Do I make sense? I really hope I do…..

Anyway, today’s haul/mini review is all about WetnWild. I got them about a month ago from my mom. She is currently in the US so it is easy for her to get this stuff. I don’t have a lot of Wetnwild products but I do have some of their eyshadow palletes and I love them. In the Philippines, there are not a lot of stores that carry WetnWild products. I do see some Facebook shops that sell them but usually, they only have 1 or 2 item per product so if you see one you like then you have buy it asap. However, if you like WetnWild products, I think one of the best place to buy is Zalora, since they do have a bunch of WetnWild products there, plus its free shipping so you  (and I) might want to check their site.

Now on to my haul/mini review:

v  WetnWild Coloricon Blush in Heather Silk

·         What I like:

o   Very Pigmented

o   Matte

o   Stays on for long time

·         Some issues:

o   A little powdery

·         Other thoughts:

o   Since it is very pigmented, apply using a dual fiber brush or tap the brush first to get rid of excess powder so that you won’t end up applying too much on your cheeks.

v  WetnWild Coloricon Eyeshadow Palette in Petal Pusher

Ø  What I like:

·         Pigmented

·         Nice color variety

·         Easy to blend

Ø  Some issues:     

§  A little powdery

§  Packaging looks cheap

§  Would have been nicer if it contains matte colors

v  WetnWild lipsticks in Red Velvet, Cherry Picking, Stoplight red

Ø  What I like:

§  Very pigmented

§  No strong odor

§  Leaves a stain

§  Lasts a long time (2-6 hours depending on what you eat)

§  Very nice colors

Ø  Some issues:

§  Cheap packaging

§  Can be drying to the lips

Ø  Other thoughts

§  Apply a thin layer of lipbalm before applying the lipstick and use a lip brush to make application easier

§  Try applying a lipliner first to prevent lipstick from bleeding

Overall Thoughts:

                I love these products! I really wish I could buy more. However, if I can recommend just one..I’d say go for the lipsticks! They are definitely one of my fave lipsticks ever! Affordable yet stays on for a long time!

HUGE AVON COSMETICS HAUL!!!!

Hi everyone!!

Wow! Time flies soo fast! I can't believe that it's  2014!. 2013 has brought me a lot of blessings and wonderful experiences that I will never forget. One of them is of course being one of the  Avon Blogger Council member. Sadly, December is our last month and I feel bad because I haven't reviewed a lot of their products. Nevertheless, I promised myself to do more posts about Avon products since I had the opportunity to receive goodies from them! I'm sure that a lot of my Filipina readers would want to know what products from Avon I highly recommend.

As my first post this year, here are the stuff the I have received from Avon  for the month of November and December. I was not able to post the November products because I just got them together with the December products. So here are pictures of the stuff that I got!!

1.AVON Holiday pallete

• The Greens, The Blues, The Metallics

These babies are sparkly lipsticks. They're small and skinny and the packaging looks really elegant and nice. Some are quite sheer and others are pigmented enough. I will do a separate review on these on my next blog post.

3.  Eyeshadow Duet

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw these. They're really cute and I don't own a lot of eyeshadow pencils so I think these can be use as a base or a cream eyeshadow on their own.

4.  Glimmersticks Cosmic Eyeliners

Oohh...excited to try these too! I love eyeliners so this will definitely spice things up a bit. They seem fragile though, like they might break or something.

5. Glimmerstick Lip Liners

They look promising right? They are very pigmented and I have used the red one and the mauve-y one and they definitely made my lipstick last longer.

6. AVON Glazewear Vitaluscious Lip Gloss

I have only tried one or two of them so far, but they seem to be good and not sticky at all. 

7. AVON Color Fold-up Palette

When I went to the AVON branch to get my stuff, the manager was excited to show me this. He told me to open the box because he was very proud of this product. I was quite impressed actually. The packaging is really good and sturdy. There were a variety of colors inside. My favorites were the blush colors. Can't wait to do a separate post on this too!

8. AVON KOHL Eyeliners

I actually have two, one was black and the other one was brown. I immediately fell in love with the brown that's why it is currently lost in my purse/makeup bag/ makeup cabinet and so I was not able to take a picture of it. Hopefully, I can do a separate post of this too!

Soo..that was it! By the way, what did you get for Christmas? I wanted to buy more makeup but since I got a lot of stuff from Avon, I decided to forego ( for now..) until I was able to try using all of them. I sometimes feel that I have a lot of makeup..but then again.. a girl can never have too much makeup right?

Product Highlight: SUESH INDIVIDUAL EYESHADOWS

Hi everyone!

Are you a fan of eyeshadows? I for one is suuppperrr addicted! I am not a lipstick person nor a blush person but I am an " eyeshadow" person..if there is one! I just feel like one can never have too much eyeshadows..hahaha.. Back in college, I've been known to wear green and purple eyeshadows in school. When I was in Manila, I went to Suesh in Market!Market! just to browse around and see what's inside the store. I saw that they are also selling invidual eyeshadows and of course being an "eyeshadow" addict that I am, I immediately bought the shades that I really liked.

Here are the shades that I bought:

Shade: 62

This is my sister's favorite among the three and I can easily see why. It is a dark pink with shimmer. I picked this one because I do not have this shade and I think this will look good on my most skin colors.

Shade: E010

This one is kind of a boring color but definitely a staple. A light beige shade like this is a good all-over-the-eyelid  color or can be used as a highlighter under the brows. 

Shade: E011

This one is just a matte orange color. I currently do not have something like this in my collection and I figured that this will look good as a crease color. I have not used this a lot yet....but I do plan to use this in a tutorial. I also think this will look good on top of an orange lipstick to make that lipstick matte. :)

All in all, the eyes hadows are good quality. They have very minimal fall out and quite pigmented. I also like the fact that they aren't too powdery and quite compact. My sister and I have tried these shadows and they last long on the lids and has very minimal creasing even without a primer. 

 They are packaged individually and you can buy empty palettes there as well.  As for me, I only bought three and I think the plastic "container" that it came with is durable enough. 

I will definitely buy more from there store once I get back to Manila and I highly recommend this to those who are looking for good quality yet not so pricey eye shadows. :)

Haul from my Avon "You Make It Beautiful" Blogger Challenge Entry

Hi everyone!!

Last Tuesday, I received a call that really surprised me. Ms Mara from Avon called to inform me that I was chosen as one of the semi-finalist for the AVON "You Make IT Beautiful" blogger challenge. It came as a surprise because I never thought I'd make it. When I saw the list of other semi-finalist...I was like.. OH MY! Because most of the girls who were chosen were bloggers that I have followed and looked up to even before I started my blog and Youtube channel. Most of the girls were from Manila so they had their briefing in the Avon main office. As for me, I had my briefing via phone call because I am here in Iloilo. They also sent me a list of the items that I need to get from an Avon branch to use on the next challenge.

So here are the items that I got:

To be honest, I am quite happy with the stuff that I got. So whether I get in or not is not really a big deal because I got these stuff for free! HiHihihi

Anyway, the next challenge what to create a look using these products and choose from three categories. We were made to choose from "Color Fantasy", "Flushed with Beauty" and "Smokey Eye". My eyeshadow quad is composed of pastel colors plus the lipsticks that I got were bright, so I decided to do "Color Fantasy" instead. I played around with the makeup until I was able to finally create a look that looks best on me.

Of all the products, my favorite are the lipsticks because they are quite pigmented and long lasting as well. I do plan to do a separate and much in depth review of some of the products that I got from Avon. My second fave is the brow definer. If it wasn't black,it would have been my favorite but it can be too dark on me because my hair is reddish brown. I am planning to but the dark brown and see if it will match my hair. I like how easy it was to apply and the fact that it is not too creamy.

Here is the look that I created:

I used "Berry  Bright" for my lips. I tried using "Tangerine Tango" for this look, but I think it does not look good..too loud...if you get what I mean.

The last part was cut. :( I had a hard time uploading my video and my movie maker was acting up! It was a miracle that my video was up at 11:47pm last night. The deadline was on or before August 11, 2013 at 12am. Gosh..I was sooo scared that I won't be able to make it! I hope you support me once voting is up. It will start on Monday, August 12, 2013.

Review: Real Techniques Core Collection Brush Set

Hi everyone!

How are you guys doing? I do not feel well today actually, (I think I may be having a cold..)I am a little sick but unfortunately, I had A LOT of errands to do :( I think it is because of the weather. It is acting up like crazyyyyy! One day its raining then its super sunny... I mean hello?? makeup your mind! Anyway, I am gonna be reviewing these new babies that I got a couple of weeks ago and I am sure that most of you have heard or seen them already.

There babies are created by no other than Sam from Pixiwoo, one of the most popular makeup gurus in Youtube. I have seen them use these brushes and I just cannot help but get my hands on them too! It comes in a clear plastic box with labels at the back to so that you can see each names and uses of each brush.

Once you open the box, you will see a black brush holder that can be used both ways.

According to the Real Techniques Website, the bristle of the brushes are made of Taklon which are synthetic fibers that are smoother and finer compared to the fibers of other brushes. And since they are synthetic, they are also 100% cruelty free. Now let us go to the detailed pictures of the brushes shall we?

1. Buffing Brush: Ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation

I use this brush to set my foundation with setting powder or apply my powder foundation. To be honest, I expected it to be softer but it wasn't  as soft as I expected it. It does the job well though. I also use this for my blush and I love how it can diffuse my blush when I apply too much.

2. Pointed Foundation Brush. Use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage.

This is my favorite in the set! I just love how it can  blend and spread creamy foundation such as my Revlon whipped Cream makeup. I don't have to use my fingers anymore and it gives a really nice flawless finish. Unlike other similar foundation brushes that I have tried, it does NOT streak at all! My only problem is that it is too small. I really expected it to be a little bigger but it takes a while for me to finish blending my foundation on my face and neck .

3. Detailer Brush. Precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas or use with lipstick for long-lasting shape and definition.
I have used this for my concealer and again, I find it too small. I guess it mainly used for concealing acne spots and marks. I used this to apply concealer on my undereye circles and I find it too stiff and small for the job. (Lesson learned: Use the pointed foundation brush for undereye circles instead)

4. Contour Brush. Delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish.
I like the shape and texture of this brush. It does not pick up much of the product so it makes it easier to control and apply bronzers and contour powders because you get to build up the color rather than start with a LOT of color and end up looking too bronzed/contoured. Same goes with applying powder highlighters, it deposits just the right amount of the highlight and you can just add more if you want. Only downside, is that some bronzers are not so pigmented so it takes time to build up the color. The way the brush "feathers"  out at the end makes it easier to blend the edges  bronzer/contour powder for a more natural look.

The handles of this brush set is colored black with gold  to signify that it is used to create a flawless base for your other makeup. They have a color-code fro each brush set, purple for enhanced eyes and pink for the perfect finish brush set.

The handles are not too long so for someone like me who makes Youtube videos, it is okay to use even if the camera is right into my face. Other  brushes have long handles that everytime I use it when I film, my camera lens gets hit. :)

Some Issues:

- the brushes are quite small

All in all, these brushes are good investments. Whether you are starting with makeup or a professional makeup artist, it is important to have the right tools in order want to achieve a flawless base for your makeup. If you are on a tight budget, then I suggest you start saving up because these babies are so worth it!
