REVIEW: Fit Me Concealer by Maybelline

Hi everyone!

I have been on a hunt of good and affordable concealers. I actually own a lot of concealers just because I haven't really found the "ONE". My sister and I went to a bazaar almost three months ago and there was this store that sells US drugstore cosmetics and they were really cheap. The lip glosses were about P100 (approx US$2) and we noticed a "brown" lip gloss. When I took it out, it was actually a concealer and when we asked the saleslady there how much was it, she told us it was P100 as well. My sister and I were so excited! Unfortunately, the lady noticed that it was actually a concealer..she sold it to us for P199 (approx US$4). However, I think we still had a pretty good deal. I tried it at once when we went home and it turned out to be just a little bit lighter than our skintone. I tried it out for about a month and so here it my review:

Name:  Fit  Me Concealer by Maybelline

Bought from: I forgot! got it for P199 (approx US4)
Price: US$6.49 in  the  Maybelline Website
Shade: 25 Medium

What it says on the Website:
PRODUCT DETAILS

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

It's makeup that doesn’t mess with you.

• No oils, no waxes, no nonsense
• Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural
• Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through
• Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, fragrance-free

FOR BEST RESULTS

Dot concealer onto imperfections or under eyes. Pat with finger to blend.

When we bought the product, it did not come with a box. It came in a tube that looks like a lip gloss. The applicator also looks similar to that of a lip gloss applicator.  I like the applicator. It was not stiff and it holds a lot of product.

Swatches:

As you can see from the swatches, it is really creamy, opaque and very blendable. Also, my skin felt smooth after applying the product. It also has a minimal white cast.

Test drive:

A you can see, I do not really have dark undereye circles but my undereyes are very puffy thus creating a shadow and making me look like I have dark undereye circles. I also have a lot of lines in that area so using concealers are quite tricky because some settle on the lines.

I used my fingers to pat the product and blend it to my skin. It does brighten up and has significantly decreased the darkness on undereyes.  I think I have applied way too much of the product though.

This is me sans makeup.

Here, I just used concealer on my undereyes and sides of my nose and applied some powder, blush and eyebrows.

Overall Thoughts:

What I like:
-The creamy consistency is just right especially when applied on my undereye circles since it does not settle on the lines
-does not cake
-color matches my skin tone
-no foul odor
- easily blendable
- lasts 4-6 hours without primer

Issues:
-might be difficult to find here in the Philippines, I have yet to find an online seller that carries this product

I really like this concealer. It is by far my favorite concealer coverage and color wise. I highly recommend this especially to those girls have lines on their undereyes as well.

I hope you find my review helpful. Please do comment below what you think of my post and what your fave concealer is! Take care!

REVIEW: 4u2 DREAMGIRL TWILIGHT CONCEALER

Hi everyone!

I have been MIA for more than a week, I guess.I have been meaning to post this last week but I have been sick and the weather is sooo not helping! Aside from my supah runny nose headache, I had a ton of errands to do. I am really in awe of other bloggers out there who can find the time to make blog posts once or twice a day despite their busy schedule. I, on the other hand work 8 hours a day, online...with a flexible schedule (meaning I can choose mu work time) and yet , I just have no time to post at all. Anyway, enough complaining, as you can see from the title above, this is what I think about the 4U2 DREAMGIRL TWILIGHT CONCEALER. I have seen this first on Say Tioco's video and even though our skin color is different, I got impressed by the product and wanted to try it too. It took a while though, because they always had no stock of this at our local department store so when I saw it a month ago, I immediately grabbed it. :)

Let's get on with the review.....

Name: 4U2 DREAMGIRL TWILIGHT CONCEALER
Price: P165.00 (approc US$3)
Bought from: Sm City Iloilo Department Store

It came in a "triangular" tube with a dome-shaped applicator.

Swatches:
*When blended and taken with flash.

It comes in only one shade and the color is more of a beige color with pinkish undertone. This will suit girls with light to medium skin color. It is very opaque so a little goes a long way. The consistency  product is not too liquidy but not too creamy. It is very easy to blend and does not settle on lines.

TEST DRIVE:
*My undereyes without any product. I  have neutral undertones so pinkish tones work on me as well. I do not have really dark undereye circles  but I have eyebags so it creates a shadow making it look like I have dark undereyes.

Tip: Blend the concealer using dabbing motions with the ring finger to really deposit the product.

*Both undereyes with concealer.

It did make my undereyes a little bit lighter. However, the color is too light for my skin. I have to mix this with my other concealer to achieve the right amount of color that will suit me. For spots, it is too light so I mainly use this under my eyes and highlighting my nose bridge and forehead.

What I like:
- affordable
-consistency is not too liquidy and opaque so a little goes a long way
-does not settle on lines
-sweet smell
- easy to blend
-minimal white cast
-good coverage

Some issues:
-comes only in one shade
-a little to white for me

Will I repurchase?
If they come out with more shades that will suit me better, then I will. I love the consistency and the coverage though, so I mix it with my other concealer.

Do I recommend?
With its affordable price and the coverage that it gives, I highly recommend this to beauties on a budget especially those with light to medium skin tones.

So that's it for this concealer! I hope you find this helpful and you might want to check out this product as well. What affordable concealer do you use or want to try? Please do share in the comment section below!

Review: BYS Concealer

Hello everyone!!

For the past months, I have been on the quest for the perfect concealer for my skin type and skin color. Though I don't have a lot of acne marks and skin imperfections, my skin tends to look dull and uneven so I need a concealer to even it out plus I do have some dark spots due to past acne breakouts that need cover-up. I have actually bought this concealer last February and I have been planning to do a review on this but after using it for a bout a week, I kind of thought that I need more time to test it out. So after about 3 weeks, here is what I thought of this product.

First, here is my picture without any face makeup (just some brow powder):
Skin type: Normal to Dry skin
Problem areas:  large pores, dull and uneven skin tone with some dark spots due to acne marks, redness around the nose area

PRODUCT INFO:
Name: BYS Concealer
Shade: Medium
Price: P199.00/12ml
Bought from: Watsons, Market Market

It is quite small and handy.

Ingredients:

The product is quite thick but somewhat liquid-y and  dries easily.
I got the shade medium because it was the only color that kind of matches my skin tone (yellow tone), most of the shades that I tried int the stall where more of pink tone.

In the picture above, I did not apply any primer on my skin. I just a applied a bit of moisturizer and dotted small amounts of the concealer on my under eye area.
Here (above), I used my fingers to blend the concealer using a patting motion rather than a swiping motion. I have noticed that the products dries easily and I really need to work fast. Plus, the concealer transfers to my fingers leaving less product on the face. As I have said the products dries easily and once it dries, I should stop blending or less the product rubs off . I have tried using a synthetic concealer brush to blend the concealer and I find it much easier and I was able to blend better. However, I still have to work fast because once the product dries, even though I use the brush, it will still rub off.

As you can see ( above), there was very little difference. I was very surprised because once the product dries, it kind of leave an invisible film of concealer on my skin.

Since I was not satisfied with the coverage, I applied another layer.

Hmmm...see any  difference? I do admit that it did brighten it up a bit but considering the amount of product i have used, it should have given more coverage right?

Here, I noticed that it did not cover my dark spots well plus it left a visible yellow film over my dark spots.

I was not satisfied with how the product performed and I had a hard time blending it but I don't want my money to go to waste so I decided to try with after I have applied my foundation on especially on the areas where I have dark spots.

Here (above), I just used my San San Liquid Matte foundation

As you can see, there was no visible yellow concealer and it did cover my dark spots. I have also noticed, that when I put a layer of foundation before applying the concealer, it did not dry up fast and it was super easier to blend.

MY THOUGHTS:

What I like:
              • Affordable
              • Packaging is cute and hygienic
              • No strong smell or odor

What I don't like:
              • The formula is thick but does not provide good coverage.
              • When used alone, (not over foundation) it dries fast and is difficult to blend.
              • Cannot be used alone
              • Tends to rub off easily
Recommendation:
              • Use on top of foundation/tinted moisturizer
              • Use a concealer brush or synthetic foundation brush when blending.

OVERALL:
All in all, I do not recommend this concealer. I did not like it at all. Now, I only use this when I have a lot of time and when I use foundation.  I will never repurchase unless they change the formula.

*Have you ever used this concealer?  Please do tell me if you have. I want to know if it is only me who had problems using this product.

Take care!!
