Iloilo City Food Find: T.S.K. (Tilawi Shawarma Ko) /(Taste My Shawarma)

I was browsing my Facebook home when I saw a picture of a burrito that my friend uploaded. I was hungry at that time and looking at the picture made me more hungry (it was around 11 pm at that time). I also happen to crave the burrito from Army Navy in Cebu and so I was just super frustrated when I saw the picture and knowing that I could not eat/buy it because I was living an hour away from the city and it was in the middle of the night!

Anyway, the next day, I asked my sister to go with me to that restaurant so that I can 1. try the food and 2. satisfy my burrito craving. So there we went....I was actually surprised with the menu that they had. I think if you are from Iloilo, you will find it naughty and funny at the same time. The name of the restaurant  was T.S.L that stands for: TILAWI SHAWARMA KO..which in English means: Taste my Shawarma. The name of the restaurant itself was pretty interesting and will definitely make any Ilonggo (like me!) curious enough to try and see what they offer.

So, upon arriving there, I saw that it was not a fancy restaurant, and the ambiance is more relaxed and casual which I like. I can imagine bringing my friends here and hang out for hours. There were already many people there and most of them were professionals(wearing suits) and they seem to enjoy the food.

The place is not really that large and it was a little humid, good thing the area is open and they do have  electric fans. :)

They have an open kitchen so I was able to see how the prepared my food and while waiting, I glanced around the shop and read all their interesting menus. :)

Okay, so this is the most interesting part of the restaurant. The way they named their food was really naughty but hey, I'm sure this will make them popular.
For non-Ilonggo speakers there, here is the reason why the names where naughty:
The words, though abbreviations, when spoken out loud, suonds like these:
BLAT (b*lat)- vagina
BLAT Mu: your vagina
BLAT Mu eh: your vagina! (but with conviction)
BLAT mu beh: give me your vagina
BLAT mu with PH: your vagina with PH (PH is a popular feminine wash)

The crew was friendly and nice. The food prices are quite reasonable as well. I ordered their Burrito and I chose "Safe". Apparently, they had two kinds of burrito, once is"SAFE" and the other is "Naked". :)

The remains....

The burrito tasted good. However, I would not say that is tastes like "burrito" because it has more of a "shawarma" taste.  I love it but I guess I still have to find a good burrito here in Iloilo. I can definitely see my self ordering this again though ad maybe I'll try the "naked" one. But of course, I want to try their Shawarma  and  BLAT products as well.

All in all, I quite enjoyed my eating experience there and definitely encourages you to try them out in case you are here in Iloilo or visiting Iloilo soon.  I know I'm not a good food/restaurant reviewer.Hahah!! I just want to write about my experience and tell you guys about it!

The pictures were taken using my celphone and as you can see I also do not have any photog skill whatsoever!Haha!

EASY DIY: BRUSH CLEANER

Hi everyone!!

How often oo you wash your makeup brushes? Is it not a pain or do you enjoy it? I wash mine about once every two weeks or once a month,maybe..hahaa..I am too lazy, I know.hihhi... I do spray them with 70% alcohol and wipe them off in a clean towel or wet wipes every after I use them. But then of course, washing them thoroughly is still important to keep them clean from bacteria and other stuff. I saw a video on Youtube on how to make a DIY brush cleaner similar to the Sigma brush gloves but way cheaper. I have been using it for a few month and I am quite happy because it made cleaning my brushes way faster and I get to remove more product. At first, I wanted to make a video on it but it did not turn out well so I'm doing a blog post instead. Here it goes:

What you need:

After this,it is pretty self explanatory.

tips:
-Make sure that you make different sized "dots"with your glue so that you can clean different types of brushes.
-Make the spacing close enough so that it can really take off the grime and other products from your brushes.

By the way, I use baby shampoo to clean my brushes.

So that's it!Pretty simple right? I assure you that using them makes cleaning your brushes super easy!

Here is the video that I saw in Youtube:

You can subscribe to her channel too!She is awesome!!

Casual BlacknWhite OOTD

Hi everyone!!

I am not into fashion but I would like to share this outfit that I wore to my friend's nephew's baptism. It was so hot at the time that I decided to wear a skirt and a blouse instead. I could not find a colorful blouse so I wore a black one instead. In the end, I looked like attending a funeral rather than a baptism. Oh well... this will do..!
It was super hot so I decided to go for a minimal makeup look. :)

Rings:
Large Green stone: Market Market
Gold band with diamonds: from my BF :)
Hairclip:
Random store in Baclaran

The blouse has a slit on the sleeves which I think made me look more of a boxer. Hihihi!
The shirt is kinda loose and looks "formal" so I decided to dress it down with a striped skirt and wedges.

Skirt
P100.00 from Baclaran

Black Wedges

How I wish I have more lipsticks in my collection, but alas!I don't have much so I used bright eyeshadows instead and I really liked the finish.

REVIEW: BB Cream for the summer! Cara Air Fit BB cream

Hi everyone!!

Today, I am reviewing the  Cara Air Fit BB cream  which was sent to me about two weeks ago. to be honest, I have a hard time using BB creams because they usually are lighter for my skintone and has a dewy finish, so  though I was glad that they sent me a product,  I so admit that I was a little skeptical at first. Anyway, if you are interested to know how it went and whether I liked it, please read on. :)

ME:

Application wise, it felt smooth and easy to blend. I find that I did not have to use concealer as it covers my imperfections well. I did not have to use much, I think one sample size sachet is good for 3 uses. It does not have any strong/unpleasant smell.

The BB cream is not oily as I expected. Though the product was quite think, it was super easy to blend and quite buildable. It has a light to medium coverage with a mild dewy finish (compared to other BB creams) and for me, I still have to set it with setting powder. At first, it was a tad lighter than my skin color but after a few minutes, it oxidized and darkened to match my color. I used my fingers to blend the bb cream since I find it easier and the warmth of my fingers melted the product, making it a lot more easier .

My skin felt smooth and soft.

Lasting power:

As for the longevity, I think it held up pretty well considering our weather here. I went out and did some errands and was not able to retouch at all. I would say that I did feel shiny after 5 hours. At 10:00pm, I was super oily and sweaty already. I can still feel the product on my skin and even though I looked super oily, the BB cream was still able to cover most of my blemishes.

Overall thoughts:

What I liked:
-gave a  good coverage
-buildable, easy to blend
-no strong odor
- unlike other bb creams, it has a mild dewy finish
-can last 4 to 6 hours

Some issues:
-it comes only in one shade
-A little bit pricey for P1k ++ for one bottle

All in all this is a good BB cream and hope that it has more shades though. I will definitely add this to my "TO BUY" list.

How about you?Any good/bad bb creams? Please do share in the comments below.

Review: In2it Waterproof Eyebrow Powder

 Hi everyone!!

I have a feeling that I have found it and I am so happy I did! I am talking about my this eyebrow product that has gotten a  lot of positive reviews and raves here in blogworld! Eyebrows are very important because it can really make or break a look. I can go without makeup but not without filled eyebrows. For years, I have been struggling with finding the right product for my sparse eyebrows. I have been looking for this in our malls here in Iloilo to no avail because it is always out of stock, so when I saw it Ayala Cebu, I just had to buy it. Anyway, here is my review, hope you find it useful! :)

Name: In2it Waterproof Eyebrow Colour with Moisturizer Vitamin E in ER 01 eyebrowns
Price: P299.00 (approx US$6-7)

It is housed in a plastic case and it comes with a mirror and a brush.

Ingredients:

Swatches:

  • It comes with three shades. A light taupe-y brown, a medium brown with reddish undertone and a dark black brown shade.
  • Unlike a normal eyeshadow, it is less powdery and very compact but not waxy.
  • The colors are very pigmented.

I used the brush that it came with when I swatched it at the back of my hand.

How it looked like when I sprayed water on top.

I let the water stay for about five minutes then rubbed with my forefinger 5x.

Demo on my eyebrows:

My bare eyebrows..thin and undefined

1. I used the middle color to outline my eyebrows and filled it in. I used the brush that it came with.
2. I used the darkest color to fill in from the arch up to the outer part of my eyebrows.

3. Lastly, I used the lightest color to shade the inner part of my brows.

Completed look

I sprayed my forehead with water to mimic "sweating" and let is stay for five minutes. I wiped it off using the back of my hand.(Like what you do when you are sweating.)

I went jogging and used the product on my brows. This is how it looked like when I got home.

Thoughts:

  • I like the packaging because it is compact and has a mirror and brush fro quick touch ups. The brush that it came with picks up a lot of product so it good for shading and filling in the eyebrows.   However, I don't like using it to outline my brows.f you want a more professional/beauty queen look, try using a thin angled brush so that you can better control the amount of powder you apply.
  • It is not waxy so if you have unruly eyebrows, it is best to use an eyebrow gel/mascara or clear mascara to tame the hair.
What I like:
-Affordable
-Sturdy container and comes with a mirror and brush
- pigmented and comes in three shades
-long lasting
- can withstand sweat as long as you don't rub your eyebrows
-no odor
-can also be used as an eyeshadow

Some Issues:
- does not contain wax so i had to use a clear mascara to tame my brows

Will I repurchase?
Yes!!!

do I recommend it?
YES!!

I am so glad I found this product. I recently made a makeup video some of my Facebook friends complimented me on my eyebrows. I really hope I have found the one!
