Makeup Tutorial: Simple and Classy Makeup (Red lips!) + Review of Blush/Contour Palette from Miss Bella PH

Hi everyone!

I have always been very intimidated by red lipsticks. I usually stay away from buying red lipcolors preferring nudes and pinks. To be honest, it's not just about red lipsticks actually, I don't like bold lip colors because I feel that it makes me look old and grabs too much attention. Now that I'm thinking about it, it all boils down to my personality. I don't like getting attention. I prefer being in the sidelines, cheering and supporting others. Anyway, why am talking about myself here? Oh right...I made a makeup tutorial using red focusing more on the lips. I have seen a lot of makeup similar makeup tutorials and to be honest, I have never thought I could pull off this look, but I think I did a good job.... I also contoured my cheeks and instead of using usual eye shadows, I used the Miss Bella PH Blush/Contour Palette for my eyelids. I am also including a review of this palette in this post just because I feel like it.

REVIEW: Fit Me Concealer by Maybelline

Hi everyone!

I have been on a hunt of good and affordable concealers. I actually own a lot of concealers just because I haven't really found the "ONE". My sister and I went to a bazaar almost three months ago and there was this store that sells US drugstore cosmetics and they were really cheap. The lip glosses were about P100 (approx US$2) and we noticed a "brown" lip gloss. When I took it out, it was actually a concealer and when we asked the saleslady there how much was it, she told us it was P100 as well. My sister and I were so excited! Unfortunately, the lady noticed that it was actually a concealer..she sold it to us for P199 (approx US$4). However, I think we still had a pretty good deal. I tried it at once when we went home and it turned out to be just a little bit lighter than our skintone. I tried it out for about a month and so here it my review:

Name:  Fit  Me Concealer by Maybelline

Bought from: I forgot! got it for P199 (approx US4)
Price: US$6.49 in  the  Maybelline Website
Shade: 25 Medium

What it says on the Website:
PRODUCT DETAILS

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

It's makeup that doesn’t mess with you.

• No oils, no waxes, no nonsense
• Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural
• Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through
• Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested, ophthalmologist-tested, fragrance-free

FOR BEST RESULTS

Dot concealer onto imperfections or under eyes. Pat with finger to blend.

When we bought the product, it did not come with a box. It came in a tube that looks like a lip gloss. The applicator also looks similar to that of a lip gloss applicator.  I like the applicator. It was not stiff and it holds a lot of product.

Swatches:

As you can see from the swatches, it is really creamy, opaque and very blendable. Also, my skin felt smooth after applying the product. It also has a minimal white cast.

Test drive:

A you can see, I do not really have dark undereye circles but my undereyes are very puffy thus creating a shadow and making me look like I have dark undereye circles. I also have a lot of lines in that area so using concealers are quite tricky because some settle on the lines.

I used my fingers to pat the product and blend it to my skin. It does brighten up and has significantly decreased the darkness on undereyes.  I think I have applied way too much of the product though.

This is me sans makeup.

Here, I just used concealer on my undereyes and sides of my nose and applied some powder, blush and eyebrows.

Overall Thoughts:

What I like:
-The creamy consistency is just right especially when applied on my undereye circles since it does not settle on the lines
-does not cake
-color matches my skin tone
-no foul odor
- easily blendable
- lasts 4-6 hours without primer

Issues:
-might be difficult to find here in the Philippines, I have yet to find an online seller that carries this product

I really like this concealer. It is by far my favorite concealer coverage and color wise. I highly recommend this especially to those girls have lines on their undereyes as well.

I hope you find my review helpful. Please do comment below what you think of my post and what your fave concealer is! Take care!

Review: 120 Warm Eyeshadow Palette by Miss Bella PH

Hi everyone!

I was not a fan of huge makeup palettes before because I thought I'd never had any use of them. I prefer buying smaller ones or individual eyeshadows instead. But eversince I started making Youtube videos, I felt like I need more colors to inspire me. It sounds silly, I  know...but I can't help it. how do Michelle Phan get inspired? Anyway, I got this palette about two weeks ago  and has been loving it ever since! Read on for more.!

Name: 120 Warm Palette
Bought from: Free
Price: P900
Where: Miss Bella PH

It contains 120 eyeshadow colors that ranges from dark browns to different kinds of browns, coppers,  taupes, beige and white. It contains both matte and shimmer eyeshadows. It has some greens, silver and  matte black. This palette is not only for creating everyday makeup looks but can be used to create bold looks for night time as well. It is cased in black, plastic container. It has two  removable palettes that are stacked together.

Ingredients:
Again, this contains Mica and Talc that can be allergic to those with sensitive eyelids.

Now for a closer look of the eyeshadows and some swatches:

As you can see from the swatches, it is quite pigmented but a little powdery.

                                                                    (size comparison)

Overall Thoughts:

What I like:
-affordable
- a lot of color variety
-contains shimmery and matte shades
- pigmented
- has removable palettes
- no strong odor
-blends well
-sturdy container

Some Issues:
-no mirror
- a bit powdery
- may not last long on those with oily lids

All in all, I am quite surprised that I love this palette. i was never into neutrals and browns before but this palette made me realize that there are so many looks that I can do using a browns and taupes. I do suggest wearing a primer when using this eyeshadows to make it last longer especially if you have oily lids.  This palette is great for makeup artists and makeup enthusiasts as well.

Here are my videos using this palette:

Here are some shots of moi wearing the eyeshadows from this palette:

I apologize for the selfie overload!

Anyway, thank you for reading my post. What makeup palettes do you love? Have you tried this palette before? Please do share your thoughts below! Take care!

REVIEW: REVLON LIP BUTTERS IN Macaroon and Strawberry Shortcake

Hi everyone!

I was going around our local SM department store when a sign caught my eye...it said "50% off on Revlon Lip butters". Being the "woman" that I am, my basic instinct to buy things that are on sale immediately kicked in  and I found walking towards the Revlon counter eager to try out which shades will work best  for me. I wanted to get the newer shades that came out but they were not on sale so I had to choose from their "old shades". I got two of them and I'm quite glad that I was finally able to try the famous lip butters from Revlon.

Name: REVLON LIP BUTTER
Shades: Macaroon and Strawberry Shortcake
Price: P525.00 (approx US$10-12) but I got them on sale for P262.5 (approx US$6) each
Bought from: SM Department Store, Revlon Counter

I bought Macaroon and Strawberry shortcake mainly because I kind of thought they will look good on me and I was looking for something that I can wear for everyday.

Both lipcolors came in similar packaging. The only difference was the color of the the cap, which I think is good because I can see what color the lipstick is and I can find it easily whenever I rummage my bag which can be a bit challenging if the lipstick case is in black.

Here are the swatches:

MACAROON:

At first, I was kinda hesitant to get this one because  when the saleslady swiped it on the back of my hand,  it looked too brownish plus it has some shimmer. But, the lady told me to try it on my lips and I immediately fell in love with it! It looked like "my-lips-but-better" which is perfect for everyday. The shimmer also adds shine and makes the lips look more plump.

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE

Strawberry shortcake is a mauvey pink which reminds me of  Mauvey from Ever Bilena. I like this one too but it was a bit sheer so I had to swipe it on my lips a few times if I really want to get the color. However, one layer of this will give you a slight pink/light lilac color (depending on your lip color)  that is also perfect for everyday. I personally like just having a thin layer because it looks more natural and flatters my skin tone more.

Overall thoughts:

This indeed feels like butter. I just love how it applies on my lips. Unlike other lipsticks that tend to flake when layered, this goes on like a dream. It is like using a lipgloss + balm + lipstick. It is not sticky at all and makes the lips feel soft, smooth  and hydrated. It will not bleed  and has a sweet "lipstick" smell that is not overwhelming. however, since it is a "lipbutter", it does not leave a stain, so on me, it lasts about 2-3 hours if I do not eat or drink.

What I like:
- affordable (depends on your budget, I guess)
-lots of colors to choose from
- does not bleed
- nice smell
-hydrating to the lips
-no need to wear lip gloss

Some issues:
- can be sheer depending on what color you get
- lasts about 2-3 hours
Tip: Use apply a lipliner before applying the lipbutter to make it last longer

All in all, I am in love with this lip butters. I will try to buy a few more on my payday (gotta work harder). They are great for everyday and I definitely recommend this to students and office workers who wants to wear lipstick but are kind of hesitant. These lipbutters are a great way to add color to your lips without looking too "made up", plus no need to wear lip balm!

So how about you? Have you tried these products?Which color did you get? I have been looking for the Wild wintermelon but it is still sold out. I also want to try Tutti fuitti and Peach parfait soon.

Thank you for reading my post.
Take care!

REVIEW: 4u2 DREAMGIRL TWILIGHT CONCEALER

Hi everyone!

I have been MIA for more than a week, I guess.I have been meaning to post this last week but I have been sick and the weather is sooo not helping! Aside from my supah runny nose headache, I had a ton of errands to do. I am really in awe of other bloggers out there who can find the time to make blog posts once or twice a day despite their busy schedule. I, on the other hand work 8 hours a day, online...with a flexible schedule (meaning I can choose mu work time) and yet , I just have no time to post at all. Anyway, enough complaining, as you can see from the title above, this is what I think about the 4U2 DREAMGIRL TWILIGHT CONCEALER. I have seen this first on Say Tioco's video and even though our skin color is different, I got impressed by the product and wanted to try it too. It took a while though, because they always had no stock of this at our local department store so when I saw it a month ago, I immediately grabbed it. :)

Let's get on with the review.....

Name: 4U2 DREAMGIRL TWILIGHT CONCEALER
Price: P165.00 (approc US$3)
Bought from: Sm City Iloilo Department Store

It came in a "triangular" tube with a dome-shaped applicator.

Swatches:
*When blended and taken with flash.

It comes in only one shade and the color is more of a beige color with pinkish undertone. This will suit girls with light to medium skin color. It is very opaque so a little goes a long way. The consistency  product is not too liquidy but not too creamy. It is very easy to blend and does not settle on lines.

TEST DRIVE:
*My undereyes without any product. I  have neutral undertones so pinkish tones work on me as well. I do not have really dark undereye circles  but I have eyebags so it creates a shadow making it look like I have dark undereyes.

Tip: Blend the concealer using dabbing motions with the ring finger to really deposit the product.

*Both undereyes with concealer.

It did make my undereyes a little bit lighter. However, the color is too light for my skin. I have to mix this with my other concealer to achieve the right amount of color that will suit me. For spots, it is too light so I mainly use this under my eyes and highlighting my nose bridge and forehead.

What I like:
- affordable
-consistency is not too liquidy and opaque so a little goes a long way
-does not settle on lines
-sweet smell
- easy to blend
-minimal white cast
-good coverage

Some issues:
-comes only in one shade
-a little to white for me

Will I repurchase?
If they come out with more shades that will suit me better, then I will. I love the consistency and the coverage though, so I mix it with my other concealer.

Do I recommend?
With its affordable price and the coverage that it gives, I highly recommend this to beauties on a budget especially those with light to medium skin tones.

So that's it for this concealer! I hope you find this helpful and you might want to check out this product as well. What affordable concealer do you use or want to try? Please do share in the comment section below!
