REVIEW: COLORFULL COLOR STAIN LIPSTICKS: LONG LASTING LIPSTICKS FOR LESS

Hello everyone!!

My dear sister was super kind and sweet! She bought me four lipsticks today!! I don't own a lot of lippies and most of them are mostly on the nude/peach side so I was very excited  when I saw these! I had no plans to make a review about these lipsticks but my sister told me that these babies are special. They stain your lips and thus lasts longer than a normal lipstick. So I tested them out and I kind of love the result so that's why I have this blog post. Anyway... here it goes:

PRODUCT NAME: Color|full Color Stain Lipstick from the brand Tupperware Philippines
Price: P109.00 (got it for free, but currently they have a sale going on so you can buy each lippie for P109.00)
Bought from: Tupperware is a catalog brand (like Avon), so check out your Tupperware Dealer. :)

Each lipstick came in a pink fuchsia box.
Ingredients:

Weight: 4 grams
What it says on the label:

SWATCHES:
This one is more of a dark pink with a hint of coral. This will good on fair to medium skin tones.

This one is a bright pink lipstick and I don't think I look good on it but I'm sure this will look great on girls with lighter skin tones. Bright pinks are also great for girls with thin lips because since it is bright, it will make your lips a little bit fuller.

This color is more on the nude side and it was quite sheer, I had to put 3 to 4 layers. I think this will show up more on girls with lighter skin tone. I do love this for an everyday look.

This one is more on the fuchsia side and is great for medium to dark skin tones. This is actually my favorite four because it just screams: VAMPY!! without overdoing it.

MY THOUGHTS:

Packaging:
It came in a standard lipstick tube. It is not really that special except that color which is nice. I can see the lipstick right away when I search for it in my makeup bag. It is quite sturdy and looks like it will not break easily.

Affordability and Availability:
For the price of P109.00 it is quite cheap compared to Avon lipsticks. Though, I don;t know a lot of people who sell Tupperware products so it might be a little difficult to find.

Formula/ Application
It is quite creamy and glides on easily. Except for Pillow Pink, I only need to apply 1-2 coats until I get the desired color on my lips. After a few minutes, I can really feel the lipstick drying on lips as it settles on the cracks and crevices. It is not an unpleasant feeling, I just put lip balm after it dried and it is okay. Tip: Apply one layer, wait for five minutes and apply another layer. This will make the lipstick more opaque. At first, it gives the lips a satin finish but turn matte after an hour or so.

Scent:
The smell is barely noticeable. I am kind of sensitive to the smell of lipsticks but these lipsticks does not any strong smell at all.

Staying power:
I would say that it lasted on me for more than 5 hours actually.

Removal:
My gosh!! It was difficult to remove this lipstick especially if I have applied too many coats. I had to use a makeup remover (Clinique makeup remover) to remove the stain.

What I like:

              • Affordable
              • Long lasting so I don't have to retouch
              • No strong smell
              • Nice colors, great for summer!!

What others may not like:
              • Dificult to remove and may stain your clothes and skin
              • Makes the lines of the lips more visible
              • Lips feel a little dry
              • Not "transfer proof"
              • Not "Kiss proof"
              • Gives a matte finish after an hour or so
OVERALL VERDICT:
I love love love these lippies!! I can't wait to buy the other colors!! I don't have to retouch my lipstick and they were sooo affordable!! I definitely recommend you to check them out!

Tips/recommendations:
              • Do not apply lip balm on the lips prior to applying the lipstick. Wait for it to dry then apply lip balm.
              • If you do not like a matte finish, you can apply a clear lip gloss once it dries on your lips.
              • You can also use your fingers to dab the product on your lips for a more natural finish.
              • Remember to exfoliate your lips before applying the product since it will really enhance any dryness or flakiness of your lips.

Hope you find this helpful!! Take care!!

MAKEUP CHALLENGE DAY 1

MAKEUP CHALLENGE DAY 1:  When did you start putting on makeup?

I cant sleep so I might as well do DAY 1 of this challenge. This is quite long so I divided it into categories. :) This is more like my makeup history by the way.

FIRST TIME:

I started putting on makeup when I was 3 or 4 years old maybe. I remember when I was in kinder 1 (so I was 4), my parents were having a fight and my dad was like throwing everything and my mom was doing pretty much the same ( I LOVE MY PARENTS! AND THIS IS NOT SARCASTIC), when I saw this red box and I opened it and tere were like boxes with lots of colours. I knew it was a makeup palette and I do know that my mom will take it from me one she found out that I got it. So, what I did was I went to our room and hid under my blanket and using my fingers, I started to apply eyeshadow all of my eyelids. I remember choosing a light green color for my lids and a pink color for my cheeks. The next morning, I insisted on bathing myself and in the bathroom, I applied makeup again (green for my lids and this time orange for my cheeks). I dont know why, but our yaya did not notice anything. So, I went to school looking like that and I was so proud of myself!! However, when my teacher saw my face, she laughed and called my yaya. So I had no choice but to run to the bathroom and washed my face because I did not want my yaya to see me. (My yaya was VERY strict.) My teacher then asked to see my mom and told her not to let her kids wear makeup. And so, my mom told me that I am not allowed to wear makeup until I was in college.

And I think, that idea stuck in my head because I never wore makeup when I was in elementary and highscool (except on special occasions like weddings, etc). But when I reached freshman college year, that was when I started wearing makeup. I used powder and eyeliner when I go to school.

COLLEGE YEARS

FIRST YEAR COLLEGE

During this time, I was really excyted to start using makeup so I started with my basics. For powder, I used the Ponds loose powder (the gold/yellow one) because it was the best thing that I can afford. For my eyes, I used a black eyeliner from Ever bilena on my upper lashline and sometimes on my lower lashline( it smudges and I looked like a raccoon at the end of the day but at that time, I was like: WTH). For lips, I used a random lipbalm from Avon. At that time, I was already considered "kikay" because back in 2004 only a few of my classmates wore eyeliners. I really dont know why.

SECOND YEAR COLLEGE

This is the time that I discovered POND'S WHITENING CREAM! And this was also the time that I discovered moisturizer. I learned that if I use a mositurizer on my face firs then put on powder (I leveled up to Johnson and Johnson's pressed powder), the powder will stick better and last longer. I was also more "adventurous" with my eyeshadows. I also was using the roll on cheek tint from Avon. It was a staple on my kikay kit.

THIRD YEAR COLLEGE

I would like to call this year: THE GREEN EYELINER YEAR. I discovered that putting on green pencil eyeliner on my upper lashiline that topping it with a light green loose pigment looked really nice on my brown eyes. This has become my everyday look  but sometime I also change it up to green eyeliner + yellow eyeshador. This was also the time when I started using concealer on my undereye circles because yellow and green eyeshadows really bring out the zombie in me. The concealer I used was from a brand named Sophie. It was NOT a good ocncealer but I dont know why I kept using it everyday.

FOURTH YEAR

I call this year: BLACK LIQUID EYELINER YEAR. I have noticed that most mf my classmates were wearing green eyeliner/green eyeshadow, so I decided to change it up and I discovered the NICHIDO LIQUID EYELINER and IT WAS AMAZING! I still use the this kind of eyeliner until now. I also was able to buy a few palettes and I mostly use pink + gold or gold + copper combo. The eyeshadows that I used were all shimmery. I dont know why I never bothered using matte eyeshadows. I really thought I looked attractive because of the compliments I get. But looking back, I NEVER WEAR FOUNDATION?TINTED MOISTURIZER!! I just put on concealer under my eyes and then powder. I must have looked weird with super yellow undereyes+shimmery eyeshadow. At that time, I thought I really looked AMAZING!!

Oh! I DO use foundation on prom and school parties. This tme, I kind of already know how to put makeup so I did not go to the salon or hire someone to do my makeup anymore. I think my face looked cakey though  and mind you! I never used MASCARA and I never fill in my brows....

AFTER GRADUATION:

This was the time that I discovered MIchelle Phan, Dulce Candy, Xteener and these girls really helped my improve my skill in putting on makeup. But it was not until in 2010 that I learned the importance of shaping and filling in my brows. I was volunteering in a hospital at that time and a gay "folk" of my patient told me that my eye makeup looked great however my brows looked ugly (law-ay in our dialect and yes, he really used that term). He voluntered to do my borws and filled it in using a brown eyebrow pencil. And I was so suprised! It really does make a difference!!

NOW:

Of course, Im still learning and I still have (a lot of) bad eyebrow days but looking back, Im still thankful for that fateful night when I found my mom's makeup palette. I think makeup is a tool to enhance once beauty and make her feel more confident.

(My parents STILL fight every now and then but both of them have mellowed in their ways. They are STILL together and based on what I see almost everyday, the DO love each other still. )

FS BB CREAM REVIEW AND DEMO

I was on the hunt for a foundation two weeks ago. I went to our local SM City Department store and headed straight to the  makeup section. I was contemplating whether to get the Ever Bilena BB cream or the Ever Bilena foundation but I passed by the Fanny Serrano Makeup counter and I saw their FS BB Cream. I swatched the product on my hand and it looked promising. I have tried it and I really love using it on a daily basis. So here is the summary of my product review.
This is what it says in on the label:
An all in one cosmetic breakthrough that has the properties of a  Foundation, to give your face a seamless coverage, Concealer to flawlessly cover all of your blemishes, Moisturizer to to protect your skin from dryness, and UV Protection to protect your face from the harmful rays of the sun.
What I like about it:
~~ affordable (costs P299 )
~~ available in almost all SM Department Stores
~~easy to apply (warm the product with your fingers first for better results)
~~ gives light to medium coverage without being caky
~~ correct and conceal uneven skin tone
~~ has a fresh citrus-y smell that is not overwhelming
~~ very moisturizing
~~ lasts up to 4 hours ( normal to dry skin)
What I dont like:
~~ gives a dewy finish so setting powder is a must
~~Can get oily
~~ for those with oily skin, I recommend using a primer or a good setting powder when using the product
~~ comes in 2 colors (Mestiza and Oriental)
I think if I use it everyday , I'd be able to use all the product inside the tube in 1 to 2 months.
All in all, this is a great product for everyday use. I will definitely repurchase this once I ran out.
