Hi everyone!!

I am not into fashion but I would like to share this outfit that I wore to my friend's nephew's baptism. It was so hot at the time that I decided to wear a skirt and a blouse instead. I could not find a colorful blouse so I wore a black one instead. In the end, I looked like attending a funeral rather than a baptism. Oh well... this will do..!

It was super hot so I decided to go for a minimal makeup look. :)

my "Ginabutan" meal ~~ Cebu City

Hi there!!

I'm here for another Cebu related post! I'm going home tomorrow so my cousin wanted me to try a certain food/restaurant that as she said can only be found in Cebu. She asked me if I have tried or have heard about "ginabutan". "Ginabutan" is a local term that comes from the  word "ginabut" which  means something that is pulled out. I  told her I have not heard of it nor tried it so she said that is where we are going to eat today. I am excited of course! It was a bit far from where we came from and when we got out of the  jeepeney ( public transportation in the Phil, Google ir!), we had to walk for about 5 minutes and we arrived in this sort of rustic place and it was not a five start restaurant. It is more of a "carinderia or canteen" type. There were lots of people there already and there were tables with a two boxes on top of them. One box, contain the "puso" which is rice wrapped inside coconut leaves and then the other box contains an assortment of fired stuff. (Don't know how to really explain it but look at the picture below.)

As you can see above, the box is full of "fried stuff". And if you live fried "anything" this is heaven!! So the man gave out plastic bags and he gave us two each. I was confused at first, but my cousin told me that one plastic will serve as our place mat. We basically lay it on the table and the other bag is where we put the things that we "pull out" from the box, hence" ginabutan". Now, I am not really into fried food but the smell and look of the food in front of me was so tempting! The "ginabot" is fried skin (I think), so I got two, the two ngohiong ( similar to lumpia, God knows what's inside it, but is delish!) and fried sausage. I gave the plastic bag to guy there and he chopped my order (how convenient!). Let me just say, that per table, there in one man that acts like your waiter/caretaker. I you want clean hands, just ask for an alcohol disinfectant and he will give it to (They have one!). He will then give you one plastic bag and you put your hand inside and it will act like a "glove" so that your hands will not smell like fried food after eating (yey!).

I ate around 4 "puso" and really wanted to eat more but my shorts and stomach was about to give out so I just stopped there. The sauce is really good!! I do not know what they put in it but it makes the fried "stuff" taste even better. The food itself is not oily at all and partnered with rice...ooohhh....heaven!!!

The place itself I think will turn off most "delicate" people but I saw a lot of men in business suits eating there and they seem not mind. There are cars outside the shop as well. My cousin said that there are lots of "Ginabutan" places all around Cebu City. The prices won't break your bank as well. I think the three of us, spent less than P200.00 (aprrox US$4.00) pesos all in all. The "puso" costs P3.00, porkchop: P15.00, ginabutan: P10.00, so not bad at all.

If you plan to visit Cebu, do try their "Ginabutan", its cheap and delicious!

DIY: EASY AND AFFORDABLE STUD EARRING AND RINGS HOLDER

Hello everyone!! I'm here to share an easy DIY project that will not only fit your budget but will also help you organize your stud earrings and rings collection.

What you need:

Old newspapers or magazines

Scissors

empty box ( any empty box that you have)

Ruler

Fabric

Pen/Marker

Adhesive ( scotch tape)

Optional: decorative material

1. Measure the space inside the box from one side to another. Do not include the "walls" of the box when you measure. Also measure from the bottom part of the box up to how tall you want your earring/ring holder will be.

2. Measure and cut your paper/old magazine. Make sure to make it slightly smaller than box (about .5cm will do) or else it will be too big once you fold it and will not fit the box anymore. 

*In the video, the box is 15.5cm and I cut the paper into 15cm .

3. Fold the paper according to height of your earring/ring holder. Make sure to secure the sides of your folded paper.

4. Make as many as you want. The more folded paper you place inside your box, the tighter it will be.

5. For the fabric, make sure that both sides are cut straight. The width of you the cloth should be the same as the space between the sides of the box. 

6. Place the fabric on top of your folded newspaper/magazine and using a card/scissors, tuck in the fabric  between each of the folded paper until you have covered all of them.

7. Now, you can put your rings.

8. This is optional but you can decorate your box however you want.

FEBRUARY FAVES ♥♥♥

February is over and now March has come. Though, I am excited as to what this month will bring, I kinda miss the "love" atmosphere of last month. :) Today, I'm going to show you what things I have been loving for the month of February.

If you have dry, damaged hair like mine, you will love this one minute hot oil treatment from Silk Secrets. I have been using this for more than two months and I have noticed that my hair is much healthier (compared before). Ever since I started having my hair dyed, I try to shampoo my hair every other day (unless of course , I rolled into mud or something) ans though, I put conditioner, my hair is still limp and dry. Then, I read somewhere that if you have colored hair or treated hair it is much better to use a deep conditioner rather than a normal conditioner. What I love about this product is that I only have to wait for 1 minute then rinse it off. It is pretty convenient especially when I am running late for something. The smell is also amazing and it stays! I actually bought another container of this because as you can see, I am running out. :) They do have other varieties like milk and coconut but for me this one smells best.

I got this powder as a gift from my dear younger brother. When I saw the color, I was actually a little disappointed because I thought it was too light for me. But when I tried it, it somehow perfectly matches my skin tone. I think it is more like a translucent powder which, though it gives very little coverage, mattifies my face and sets my foundation/bb cream/tinted moisturizer. It has no smell which I like and light enough to bring anywhere for touch ups. 

Dewberry After Bath Body Oil

I also got this as a gift from my dear friend. I don't know the price of this nor the exact name of the brand but it is basically an after bath oil and you put on your skin when it is wet and then wipe it off with a towel. I have been using this everyday since I got this and I loved it. I have not been having enough sleep and I'm also not drinking a lot of water so my skin especially my legs tend to become super dry. But ever since I used this I noticed that my skin is a lot smoother and the smell is also amazing. I can still smell it hours after I took a bath. I also love the fact that it is not greasy and I only have to use a small amount of the product for my entire body.

I actually have been using this for more than 4 months and I have used around 4 to 5 tubes already and since this is my first monthly favorites blogpost, I might as well put it in. :) I love love love this facial cleanser!! so far, this has been my holy grail and it has not failed me so far. It lathers well and has a fresh smell which I love. It has helped cleared my skin from  breakouts and I use this twice a day (morning and night). Quick tip: I add a little iodized salt in this facial wash 2-3 times a week to exfoliate my skin, especially along my nose area. Believe me, but doing this helped reduce my blackhead and whiteheads!Just make sure to moisturize your skin after. :)

Blooming Violet Summer Freshes

I've had this cologne since December but I never got into using this because honestly, I am not a huge cologne/perfume fan. But, I tried using this at the start of February and somehow I have been using ever since. I even keep this in my bag with me so that I can use this to freshen up. The smell is more like vanilla but with a flowery/fruity twist so it is not super sweet and not too fruity as well. I don't like overwhelming scents so this is super perfect for me!!

Last but no the least is this vintage inspired gold mirror that I got towards the end of February. I could say that is is my best buy this month. You can flip it by the way and it is made of plastic. I just think that it is so pretty and nice to look at especially on your dresser. I like using this when I put on makeup because it makes me feel extra fancy...haha..dont know why!!

Guys and Valentine's day ♥♥♥

Hello everyone!!

Valentine's day is just around the corner and I am so sure that most women out there are super excited for this day. Now, in the Philippines and the US, Valentine's day is more or less a "girls" day because women are usually the receiving end of gifts such as flowers,chocolates, jewelries, and what not. Men are usually the "giver" since they are the ones who spend (well, mostly) more on this day. Not that they're complaining, I did a survey and asked 30 random men aging 20-30 years old and asked them some questions about what they think of Valentine's Day. I have gathered that 22 out 30 think that it is normal for men to spend more on this day and 27 out 30 actually do not expect to receive any  "material" gift from their girlfriends on this day. After getting the results, I kind of thought that V-day is indeed our day, but what if we return the favor? Since they get to spend money for our dinner, flowers and other stuff not to mention the extra gestures they do to surprise us or make us feel (extra) special and loved on this day, I asked 25 random men what they want their girlfriend to give them on Valentine's Day. I was actually surprised with the results!! Believe it or not, but majority (16 out 25) answered that a hand written letter or card will be the best gift that they can receive on Valentine's Day.     I asked them why they would want to receive letters and most of them answered that letters are much sweeter and more meaningful since it makes them feel more special plus they can re-read them again and again.

I for one was surprised with the result. I actually thought that most of them would answer something like gadgets or even sex! Hahha...But, I was wrong. Well, yeah, there some naughty answers such as lace panties, which really got me confused that I did not bother to ask further. There also a couple of men who answered chocolates or sweets. Not one of them answered flowers though, that would have been interesting. Anyhoo... I guess it goes to show that men are not that shallow when it comes to someone they love. At least, now I know what to give to my special someone this Valentine's day. Do you?
