Everyday Neutrals With a Pop of Color

Hello everyone!!

I recently found my long lost eye shadow called "Walking on Eggshells" by WetnWild!! I found it in one of my mom's bags and oohhh boy did that make me soo happy!! I remember getting it last year and had been using it everyday for work. However, I don't know what happened but I kind of forgot about it for awhile and now I'm so happy I found it again. The only downside is that it looks crap when I found it.

Anyhooo....here it is:
*The colors are pigmented with a nice shimmer.
*I got mine from the US but you can buy this from online shops and Watsons for P299  or less.

In lieu of having found my long lost palette, I decided to film a makeup tutorial!! I used the three colors of the palette for my eyeshadows and added  green on my lower lashline to make it less boring.

Are you with the right partner?

Hello everyone!

If you are reading this, let me just tell you that this is NOT a makeup related post. So if you like reading about makeup then this might not be for you, BUT I think it will not hurt if you spare 5 minutes of your time reading this, because today, I'd like to write about something more personal. :)

So here it goes:

I read this status message from my friend in Facebook and it really hit something in me.

Are you with the right partner?

During an open forum, a woman asked," How do I know if I am with the right person?"

The speaker then noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so he said, "It depends. Is that your partner?" In all seriousness, she answered "How do you know?" Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind replied the speaker.

Here's the answer.

Every relationship has a cycle… In the beginning; you fall in love with your partner. You anticipate their calls, want their touch, and like their individual or unique characteristics . Falling in love wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love.

People in love sometimes say, "I was swept of my feet."Picture the expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something happened TO YOU.

Falling in love is a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few months or years of being together, the euphoria of love fades. It's a natural cycle of EVERY relationship.

Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's individual or unique characteristics , instead of being cute, it'll drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship; you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, you and/or your partner might start asking, "Am I with the right person?" And as you reflect on the euphoria of the love you once had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when relationships breakdown.

The key to succeeding in a relationship is not finding the right person; it's learning to love the person you found and who found you.

People blame their partners for their unhappiness and look outside for fulfillment.

Infidelity is the most common. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your relationship. It lies within it.

I'm not saying that you couldn't get attracted with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years later.

Because (listen carefully to this):

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. You have to work on it day in and day out. It takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it demands WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make it work. Make no mistake about it.

Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your partner), Just as there are physical laws Of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships. If you know how to apply these laws, the results are predictable.

There will always be someone better, prettier... sexier...wiser or whatever.

Love is therefore a "decision". Not just a feeling.

Remember this always: God allows people to walk into your life. It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let GO..

After reading this, I could not help but agree. For a relationship to last, it requires work from both parties. I am not an expert in love, but I have been in love a number of time before. I can honestly say I loved each of them but love is juts not enough. At that time, I'd rather suffer months of heartaches rather than face how I feel and do something about it. Looking back, if only had I swallowed my pride and made an effort  things won't be the same. So based on my experience, it really boils down to finding the right partner. I have met Rodel when I was in senior year of college. It was very unexpected and we became a couple in less than 2 weeks. Five years later and we are still together and I can honestly say that I love him very much and I know that he feels the same way too. I would not say our relationship perfect because it is not. We are completely different from each other and we used to have huge fights (we still do) about almost everything. And yet despite all that,  I could not bring myself to end our relationship and it is because deep down we could not live without each other. He is the person I talk to when I have problems and just a hug from him makes everything okay. We may bicker a lot but at the end of the day, we still respect each other's decision and try to compromise and meet halfway.

Love requires a lot of work, patience and trust. It so easy to fall in love, it is difficult to stay in love.

  • Controls shines for an all day perfect and healthy looking complexion.

The product as it says is water-based and not sticky but is not water-y as well.

ME:
Skin type: normal to dry
Problem areas: Uneven skin tone, large pores, a red zit on my right cheek

I applied the product on the right side of my face at first and then blended it out using my fingers.
*As you can see, it did evened my skin a bit but did not cover my zit 100%.
* It did brighten my face though. :)

* I used my ELF two-way powder foundation to set the foundation.

FOR COMPARISON:

 MY THOUGHTS:

What I like:
  • Affordable
  • It is water-based and blends easily without making making my face look cakey
  • Adheres well to the skin
  • Gives a natural,dew-y finish ( light to medium coverage)
  • No need to use setting powder
  • It brightens my face, making me look fresh and awake
  •  It stayed on me for about 4 hours without using a primer.
What I don't like:
  • The fist thing I DONT like about this product is that the first time I tried it on, I had a strange sensation on my skin. I felt a sort of tingly, minty sensation on my skin. It was a little unpleasant at first, then after a few seconds the tingly sensation went away but the minty feeling stayed on for about 5 minutes or so. It really bothered me at first but it did not break me out or anything so I continued using it for 2 weeks. Now, I don't feel that unpleasant tingly sensation anymore but I do feel a cooling sensation on face every time I use it.
  • It does not do anything about my pores though :(
  • It has a very faint alcohol-like odor.
Recommendation:
  • If you have super sensitive skin, I suggest you try this out first and see if you and I have the same reaction. My twin sister used this foundation as well and she did not feel anything unpleasant tingly sensation She did say that she felt a cooling sensation after she applied the product on her skin.
  • You can get away without using a setting powder but if you think you need to set it with powder, it is better to use a loose powder and make sure to apply some blush or bronzer so that your face will not look flat.
I am really not sure whether I will repurchase this once I run out because I do have other light coverage foundation lying around. But, if you are looking for a natural finish go-to-for-everyday-use foundation that you don't need to set with powder, this is a  good option.

ELF Two-way cake Foundation SPF 15 Review

 Hey everyone!!

My 4u2 BB Powder ran out so I went to our local SM city to buy a new one. However, I was so disappointed because they had no stock. I had no choice but to find an alternative since I desperately need a new powder. I went to the ELF counter and I saw this Two-way cake foundation with SPF 15.. I was skeptical at first but the lady there told me sha was wearing the foundtion on her face and I looked at her carefully. She looked okay. I kind of love the finish of the foundation on her face so I decided to buy one and  I have been using it everyday for a week.

Let me tell you about the facts first:
Name: Two-way Cake Foundation SPF 15
Shade: Rosy Beige (77013)
Cost: P249.75
What it says on the box:
This dual-function foundation can be used wet for a creamy sheer coverage or dry for a matte full coverage.
The SPF 15 formula combats premature aging and protects against the sun damage.
The easy to blend and lightweight formula gives a natiral looking finish for all day wear.
Directions: Apply prior to sun exposure. For a sheer coverage, dampen the sponge applicator with water to apply the powder wet.
For a fuller coverage, use the sponge applicator dry.

It comes with a mirror and a compartment for the sponge.

Ingredients: Talc, mica, titanium dioxide, hydrogenated polyisobutene, caprylic/capric triglyceride, ethylhexyl palmitate, polyisobutenem sodium dehydroacetate.
May contain (+/-): Iron oxide (CI 77891. 7789, 77899), Yellow 5 Lake (CI 19140), Red No. 40 Lake (CI 16035).
Active Ingredient: Zinc Oxide 15%, Titanium Dioxide 10%

 Me:
skin type: normal to dry
problem areas: large pores, redness around the nose, undereye dark circles and uneven skintone

This is me with the powder applied dry:

This is me with the powder applied wet.

With flash:

MY THOUGHTS:

What I like:
- It has no smell.
-It is affordable.
- It offers good coverage (in my opinion, especially when applied wet).
- Quite buildable and adheres to the skin well
-It matched my skintone and does not give me a white cast when I take pictures.
-It lasted on me for 4-6 hours without retouching (wet application); 2-4 hours (dry application)
-The sponge that came with it is also quite nice and thick.

What others may not like:
-the packaging looks cheap and may not be durable
-can be a little bulky

Recommended for:
-girls who are on the go and need less time to get ready in the morning
-girls with oily skin since it is quite matte and can control oil
-those who are on a budget

Other recommendations:
-I find it better to use wet rather than dry because it lasts longer and gives better coverage. However, be careful to do so, use a small amount first and continue building it until you get the coverage desired. Applying too much at first may make your face cakey once the product has dried.

Bottomline:
I love this product!! I will definitely get a new once I run out. :)

Simple and Colorful Eye Makeup

Hey guys!!

I have always associated makeup with my mood and today,I feel extra colorful so I decided to film a colorful makeup tutorial. I used metalic shades of turqoise, light gold, purple and black for this tutorial. This can be worn on special occassions and can be darkened up depending on your preference. Also, I opted not to use my brushes for the eyeshadow application. I think I am going to do more of there makeup tutorials. I like using my fingers to apply my eyeshadow becuase it can really apply the eyeshadow pigment on my lids well. I think this makeup is great for those who want to experiment with colors but still wants to keep it simple and elegant.

So here the things that I used:

FACE:

San San Matte Finish Liquid Foundation # 3
Concealer: Pinkie Collection Cream Fondation

Cheeks:Peach Blush

 Eyes:

ELF Eyeprimer

 ELF 32 Cool Color Palette

Nichido Liquid Eyeliner:

precision Brush

 Matte Dark Brown eyeshadow(brows)

Avon Superextend Mascara

LIPS:

Fab Rose by Popshop

Here is the video. Hope you enjoy!
Im sorry about my lashes, it was because I was trying out some new eyelashes today. :)
